2010 Winner: Tertiary Education Award
The Monash Sustainability Institute’s Green Steps is a five-day training program where university students learn ‘green’ skills they can take into the workforce after graduation. Green Steps has trained over 500 participants and partnered with over 350 organisations Australia-wide, helping businesses to achieve a 30 to 50 per cent reduction of waste to landfill; more than 10 per cent reduction in water and paper consumption, and approximately $5,000 to $10,000 in savings per year.
