Darebin’s Community Climate Change Action Plan has a target of zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2020. Since Council started its energy efficiency program, savings have been achieved through the use of timer controls, energy efficient appliances and upgrades to ventilation and air-conditioning. Darebin buys 100 per cent GreenPower and promotes energy efficiency to local businesses and industry, as well as assisting elderly and low income renters improve energy efficiency at home.
